How were Homebase & Argos linked?
Since 2002 and up until 27th February 2016 Argos and Homebase were part of the Home Retail Group PLC. Both Argos and Homebase have been offering pet insurance for over 10 years.
Who is Home Retail Group/Home Retail Group Insurance Services?
Home Retail Group are one the UK’s leading home and general merchandise retailers, bringing together some of the UK’s most recognisable retail brands including Argos and Habitat. Up until 27th February, Home Retail Group owned Homebase. Home Retail Group Insurance Services Limited manages the insurance business for the Group and is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Why are Homebase no longer providing my pet insurance policy?
Homebase used Royal & Sun Alliance (RSA) to administer and underwrite their pet insurance policies and this is continuing. Whilst Homebase worked with RSA to provide your pet insurance, they have never provided the cover and instead used a specialist insurance provider – RSA.
What does this mean for me and my policy?
We can assure you that nothing has changed. Your policy features and benefits will remain the same and can be viewed lower down this page. You should now have received another letter which gives you more information about the transfer to Argos. The customer managers you talk to, right through to the claims handlers are the same people you’d spoken to before. We know many of our customers prefer to speak to the same person, so don’t worry, they’re not going anywhere.
Do I need to do anything?
There’s nothing for you to do. All we ask is that you continue to love and pamper your pet!
But I’m happy being a Homebase Pet Insurance customer, do I have to change?

Who are Royal & Sun Alliance?
They are one of the world’s leading insurance groups providing products and services in over 140 countries. They are the administrator and underwriter of your pet insurance policy.
What will happen to my login area?
You will still be able to access the online account area in the same way as before – at the end of May this will change to the Argos brand but your login in details will remain unchanged
Does this mean my Homebase policy will end at some point?
No. Through Royal & Sun Alliance you will be offered to renew your policy when the time comes. At some point your policy will no longer be offered under the name Homebase and instead will be offered under the name Argos. The policy cover and services provided will be unaffected.
Will the features and benefits of my policy change?

I have an ongoing claim, what will happen to it?
Your ongoing claim will continue as normal, and it won’t affect the way this is being processed. If you want an update, or would just like to talk to a member of the team, you can contact them on 0345 078 7500 or email email@example.com
Will this change affect my ongoing or future claims?
No, there will be no change to current claims. You just need continue to keep making your payments as usual. If you want to speak to a customer manager about a claim or have any queries, just give us a call on 0345 078 7500 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
What will happen when I renew? Will my policy T&Cs stay the same?
The features and benefits of your policy will remain unchanged – any changes to the terms and conditions will be provided to you when your policy is due for renewal but we’ll make sure it’s all made easy for you to understand.
My policy is due for renewal soon, what do I need to do?
Your renewal documents will be provided to you as normal. The only difference is they will be branded Argos rather than Homebase.

You can check our website for more information about our products and services, but it’s worth noting at this stage the product we offer for Argos customers is different to the level of cover you have. Therefore we ask that you refer to your policy documents for more information on your policies benefits and features. I'm thinking of cancelling my policy, what do I need to do?
We’re sorry you’re thinking of cancelling your policy. We hope these changes aren’t the reason you want to leave. All you need to do is contact us on 0345 078 7500 and we’ll do whatever we can to help you.
Can I contact the new owners of Homebase and continue my policy that way?
Homebase are no longer offering pet insurance to new customers so it is not possible for them to provide this directly to you.
