Dogs and cats are two of the most popular pets in the UK. But when you’re asked whether you’re a cat or a dog person – what’s your response? Apparently our preference in pets says a lot about our personalities.

So how does the amount of cats and dogs measure up in the UK?
Cats are more popular than dogs in the UK with a population of 8.9 million.

However, the dog population is on the increase with a population of 6.7 million in 2012.

How does being a dog person affect your personality?
Dog people are: Cooperative, Agreeable, Self-Disciplined, Extroverted, Assertive

If you are a cat person you are more likely to have the following personality traits…
Cat people are: Adaptable, Silly, Open, Neurotic, Independent

What are the benefits of owning a pet?
1. Exercise
2. Stress Relief
3. Companionship

Did you know? In general pet owners tend to be healthier than non-pet owners.

Did you know? Children with pets can learn important skills such as sharing, taking responsibility and caring for another.
