10 famous pet dads celebrating Father’s Day
Being a pet parent is a lot of fun, and this month the spotlight is on all those pet dads out there for Father’s Day! We’re sending our appreciation to some of the famous pet dads who show the love for their furry friends.
Actor Liam Hemsworth is most commonly known for his role in The Hunger Games, but we know him as a true dog lover. As a dog dad to rescue dogs Tani and Dora, he regularly uses social media to share cute snaps of his fur babies.
The comedian and actor is a dog dad to Bear, a German Shepherd. Bear regularly features on the comic’s Instagram feed. He also has a cat called Morrissey, named after the singer.
While Gervais is known for his stand up comedy and acting, he’s also a supporter of a number of animal charities. He regularly uses his status to raise awareness of causes to benefit animals.
As well as this, he’s a pet dad to Siamese Ollie. Ollie makes regular appearances on the actor’s social media pages, and even has a Twitter page of his own.
As one of TV’s favourite dog lovers and dad to five fur babies, this list wouldn’t be complete without Paul O’Grady. The presenter has used his name to become a voice for rescue dogs everywhere. His show For the Love of Dogs brings us heartwarming stories and promotes choosing to adopt pets instead of buying.
In the first series of the show, Paul was scheduled to be filmed volunteering at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home for six days. However, he stayed to volunteer for six months following filming and was invited to become an ambassador for the home.
Paul’s most famous fur baby is Olga, who joined him every day on his chat show. Sadly, Olga passed away earlier this year.
The singer is known for his love of cats and has two of his own. His two fur babies are called Graham, a rescue cat, and Calippo. He loves his cats so much, he decided to skip accepting two Grammys and opted for a night in with the two instead.
The former footballer is famous for his skills on the pitch, his tattoos and for being a top dad to his four children. But he is also a dog dad to four fur friends, Olive, Coco, Scarlet and Barnaby. The bunch regularly pop up on the Beckham family’s social media pages. The latest addition to the family, Olive, even has her own Instagram page!
The Walking Dead star is known for playing one of TV’s toughest characters, but he’s a big softie when it comes to his beloved black cat. The uniquely named Eye in the Dark regularly features on the actor’s Instagram page. He also has his own Twitter page with more than 12,000 followers.
The former President of the United States made a promise to his two daughters if he moved into the White House – they could have a puppy! He kept his promise and in 2008, the world met the First Dog, Bo.
The Portuguese Water Dog stole everyone’s hearts when he was officially added to the Obama family, and was later joined by Sunny, a pooch of the same breed.
Actor Ian Somerhalder is best known for his role in The Vampire Diaries, but his cat Moke knows him as ‘dad’.
As well as regularly sharing photos of his own fur baby, the actor shares messages supporting animal adoption and many other causes to his millions of followers.
The Hollywood actor, known for a huge number of roles, is one of our favourite dog lovers. He’s a huge supporter of adopting pets, using his own social media page to share photos of pets in need of a forever home. He’s regularly seen out and about with his pooches and even took one as his date to a film premiere!
